Scott C. Ayash, Assistant Director for Research Management at the EERC, assists in managing projects involving CO2 sequestration technologies under the U.S. Department of Energy’s Regional Carbon Sequestration Partnership Program and associated projects. He holds a B.S. degree in Physics from North Dakota State University. Prior to his current position, Mr. Ayash served as a Senior Project Management Specialist and a Research Scientist at the EERC. Mr. Ayash’s principal areas of interest and expertise include technical research associated with carbon capture and storage. He has experience in performing subsurface technical risk assessments for CO2 storage projects, preparing reports and papers, presenting results, and interacting with industry and government organizations. He was involved in helping develop a set of coefficients and a classification system that can be used to estimate the CO2 storage capacity of geologic formations, specifically saline formations. Mr. Ayash also assists with conducting oil and gas industry research, including preparing technical reports.
