Biography
Dr. Sushanta Bose is a Senior Geoscientist in the Subsurface R&D group at the EERC, where he leads geoscience research projects in the areas of geologic CO2 capture and storage, and enhanced oil recovery. In this role, he works with multidisciplinary teams of scientists, engineers, and business professionals to successfully bring project deliverables and milestones to completion.
Overall, he possesses almost 14 years of experience in traditional oil and gas and carbon capture and storage-related fields, garnered from his tenure with ConocoPhillips, service companies, and applied oil and gas research teams at universities. Dr. Bose holds a Ph.D. degree in Geology from the University of Houston, a M.Sc. degree in Applied Geology from Jadavpur University, India, and Postgraduate Certification in Data Science and Business Analytics from the University of Texas at Austin.
Dr. Bose’s principal areas of interest and expertise include 3D geomodeling and characterization of subsurface formations, interpretation of well log and seismic data, stratigraphic interpretation and mapping, petrophysical analysis, and geological operations. He is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, the Society of Petrophysicists and Well Log Analysts, and the Society of Petroleum Engineers and has authored and coauthored numerous peer-reviewed and other professional publications.
