Biography

Dr. Thomas P. McGuire is a Senior Reservoir Engineer at the EERC, where he evaluates and interprets geoscience and engineering data and uses oil and gas industry simulation and other software to determine the long-term performance of subsurface reservoirs and the fate of produced/injected fluids to address challenges in conventional and unconventional reservoirs such as production mechanisms and EOR in tight reservoir rocks, CO2 storage, high-volume brine disposal, and production data analysis and interpretation for unconventional reservoirs. He holds Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Petroleum Engineering and a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University. He is a licensed professional engineer in Alaska and West Virginia. Prior to his position at the EERC, he served as a Senior Petroleum Engineer with KeyLogic Systems.

Dr. McGuire’s principal areas of interest and expertise include 13 years of total reservoir, completions, and petroleum engineering experience, including both classical and simulation reservoir engineering, and extensive miscible water alternating gas (MWAG) enhanced oil recovery (EOR) and waterflood management experience. He has authored or coauthored numerous professional publications.
