Zachary Waller is an Assistant Professor in the Aviation Department at the University of North Dakota (UND). Holding a B.S. in Aeronautics, and a M.S. in Aviation, he currently teaches courses related to unmanned aircraft and at the undergraduate level and quantitative research methods in the graduate school. He maintains a commercial pilot certificate with instrument and multi-engine ratings, and has developed unmanned curriculum with the Air Force Research Lab as well as CAE Inc. Mr. Waller serves on the Publishing Board for the Journal of Unmanned Aerial Systems and is an active referee for the International Journal of Aviation, Aeronautics, and Aerospace. He supports several state and federal research efforts examining the unmanned aircraft industry, policy, and regulation. He is presently involved in research regarding cognitive state measurement during UAS training events, UAS certification standards, and the application of aviation safety practices to offshore oil systems.
