Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Renewal Application if you have not already applied for financial aid for the current academic year.
If you have already applied for financial aid for the current academic year and UND was not originally listed to receive your application information:
- Go to www.fafsa.ed.gov and submit a correction to your FAFSA to add UND’s school code: 003005; or
- You may call 1-800-4-FED-AID to request that UND be added to your application.
Financial aid awarded at your previous institution does not directly transfer to UND. Financial aid awards may differ from school to school. UND will send you an award notice which may include different types and amounts of aid than you received at the previous school. You must also reapply for your student loans.
If your previous school used professional judgment to change any information on your FAFSA (i.e. adjusted gross income, untaxed income received, independent status override) you must submit a request, in writing, to UND also. Adjustments made by another financial aid office will not automatically transfer to UND!
If you were selected for verification and completed that process at your previous school during the current academic year, you must submit documentation (i.e. income tax returns, W-2s) and complete the verification process at UND also.
