The University of North Dakota has achieved distinction by building steadily on a core mission, values, and tradition that trace back to 1883. Our outstanding academic programs at the undergraduate, graduate, and professional levels prepare students for a lifetime of learning, personal fulfillment, and success, and to have a positive impact on society. As a sophisticated research university, we create, advance, and apply knowledge to meet the most pressing needs facing our communities. We apply our expertise to serve the social and economic vitality of our state, our nation, and the world.
President Kelley initiated a series of campus-wide conversations in 2010 to identify strategic priorities that would elevate us to an Exceptional UND. We are pleased to present here the Strategic Priorities for an Exceptional UND.
An Exceptional UND strengthens connections and nurtures the potential in every member of the university community. Building on those cornerstones — connections and community — an Exceptional UND will be a nationally and internationally recognized state university in which a community of dedicated teacher-scholars promote the public well-being and educate the next generations of students to be leaders in shaping a better future.
