It's my pleasure to welcome you to the Academic Affairs website! The Office of the Provost & Vice President for Academic Affairs is committed to ensuring the academic success of faculty, students, and staff at the University of North Dakota.
Our Office's mission is to provide vision, leadership, and support for academic excellence and integrity to further the university's academic mission through outstanding teaching and learning, cutting-edge scholarly and creative activity, and meaningful service to the public.
At UND, more than 800 faculty members and instructors deliver a first- rate education to 14,700 students from all 50 states and 50 nations. A broad array of undergraduate programs is at the core of a sophisticated research university with vibrant graduate and professional programs enriching the educational experience. UND offers more than 210 fields of study across the colleges of aerospace, arts & sciences, business & public administration, education & human development, engineering & mines, law, and nursing, including those found here . Recognition of UND's academic distinction and value include our Essential Studies curriculum, community engagement initiatives, and programs in rural health, American Indian studies, entrepreneurship, school of law, and aerospace sciences.
Our Office facilitates the university's mission through academic and curricular planning, and partners with academic faculty, staff, and programs across the university to provide an exciting, imaginative, and rigorous learning experience for every UND student; provides support for faculty promotion and tenure processes; offers and promotes faculty development and leadership opportunities; fosters faculty innovation, achievement, and recognition for teaching, scholarship, and service; partners with campus stakeholders to recruit, retain, and support a distinguished and diverse faculty; promotes the assessment of student learning; and champions the educational benefits of diverse intellectual viewpoints and backgrounds.
