What does the program entail?
The Innovation Fellows program challenges students to build relationships and become creative divergent thinkers to solve authentic business challenges. This high-impact internship opportunity equips students with indispensable employability skills including the ability to demonstrate:

What do Innovation Fellows do?
Students learn how to work with entrepreneurs, start-ups, non-profits, individuals, and business owners to find new solutions through the Creative Problem Solving process. This process is not just another brainstorming session; it utilizes scientifically proven methodologies and techniques to put creativity into action.
The Innovation Student Fellowship helps students gain expertise in innovative methodologies such as design thinking and creative problem solving through collaborating with real people with real business challenges! Through this fellowship, students develop the skills to co-facilitate workshops, deliver training sessions, and orchestrate design challenges that can be used to help numerous industry professionals.
Eligibility
The ideal candidate should demonstrate a strong interest in creative thinking, coupled with a passion for education and a genuine desire to challenge themselves to make a positive impact in the community. Prior experience with education, training, or facilitation is not required.
For Credit Option
The Innovation Student Fellowship is being offered as a for-credit internship to undergraduate and/or graduate students. It involves 1 credit per semester and can be taken for up to 3 semesters.
Not For Credit Option
This option is available for current UND students, staff, and alumni and is a hands on not-for-credit learning experience. It involves a 1 hour meeting per week plus a few additional facilitated workshop times throughout the semester.
How to Apply
Cohort A
Cohort A runs in the fall semester. Applications to join Cohort A are due on the last day to add/drop a course found on UND's academic calendar.
Cohort B
Cohort B begins in the spring semester. Applications to join Cohort B are due on the last day to add/drop a course found on UND's academic calendar.
Application Steps
- Fill out an online application.
- Attach a resume and /or LinkedIn profile.
- Our interview lasts about 30 minutes and is an opportunity for us to get to know you better.
- Students will be notified if they are accepted into the program.
