Calendar Guidelines
What to Post
The University of North Dakota calendar exists to promote and share university events with broad relevance to members of the university community.
Eligible Event Examples
- Academic lectures
- Student organization-sponsored social events open to others
- UND athletic events
- Career fairs on campus or sponsored by a UND department
- Admissions events, campus tours, department open houses
- University music/theater performances
- Major community events
Non-Eligible Event Examples
- Closed office, departmental, or group meetings (open only to specific individuals)
- Non-university social gathering
- Sale or special event by a local business
Events hosted exclusively by local or regional non-university businesses or organizations are referred to the Grand Forks City calendar or the Greater Grand Forks Convention & Visitors Bureau calendar.
Who Can Post
Only users with an NDUS account (NDUS.Identifier) can submit events. This is the same username and password used for many UND systems. Those outside the UND community may login with Facebook, Google, Twitter or LinkedIn to submit an event.
Event Visibility
All campus calendar event listings are visible publicly, without the need to create an account or sign in. Users only need an account if they wish to contribute to the calendar.
Submission Deadlines
To ensure maximum exposure for event listings, please submit the listing at least two weeks ahead of the event date. This allows time for review and posting.
Efforts will be made to process events submitted after this two-week window, but no guarantees are made regarding the inclusion of such events.
Objectionable or Irrelevant Content
UND reserves the right to reject or remove, without notification, any listing featuring objectionable content, imagery, or subject matter such as hate speech, pornographic content, content encouraging dangerous behavior, or content not in line with university standards of conduct for students, faculty and staff. Review of content is executed by the university, with respect given to the right to academic freedom and the freedom of thought.
