Comprehensive Evaluation for Reaffirmation Timeline

UND’s comprehensive evaluation reaffirmation assurance argument is due to HLC on March 25, 2024.

The assurance argument writing process involves months of data gathering and work by the criterion writing teams. These teams start formal evidence-gathering and writing in the fall of 2021 with a draft of their work due to the HLC Executive Committee in the fall of 2022. 

Reaffirmation Timeline

September 2020

Campus-wide call for volunteers to assist with the assurance argument writing process.

October/November 2020

Criterion writing teams selected by Executive Committee. 

January - March 2021

HLC Assurance Writing Criterion Team meetings to discuss roles, members, responsibilities, and timeline of activities. The Executive Committee provides team members with links to the HLC documents for review. Links to HLC exemplar Assurance Arguments will also be provided to guide the writing process.

Training is provided for each individual team to cover their area of responsibility. Training highlights each criterion and provide approved examples of evidence.

April 2021

First team to go to HLC conference, including ALO, Executive Committee, two representatives from each of the five Criterion teams and the Federal Compliance group, and the Provost.

September 2021

Executive Committee meets with criterion teams, launching the formal evidence-gathering and pre-writing phase.

January 2022

Begin the writing process for each section of the Assurance Argument.

February 2022

Executive Committee quarterly check-in with all criterion teams.

April 2022

Second team to go to HLC conference.

May 2022

Executive Committee quarterly check-in with all criterion teams.

August/September 2022

Final Executive Committee quarterly check-in with criterion teams.

June 1, 2023

Deadline for criterion teams to submit drafts and revised drafts to Executive Committee.

December 2023

Executive Committee completes draft for review by Provost Office and President. Finalize drafts and upload supporting documentation for the March submission.

March 25, 2024

Deadline for submission of Assurance Argument.

Academic Year 2023-2024

Campus site visit will be April 22-23, 2024.
