UND LEADS. Together We Learn

Course Proposal Form Part 2

Lifelong learning is all about providing opportunities for extended connections, discovery, growth, and learning.  In alignment with UND LEADS, Together We Learn lifelong learning maximizes teacher, learner, leader engagement and serves as a gateway to providing high impact teaching and learning experiences that connect and inspire scholarly contributions, innovation, and acts of service beyond the classroom and out into our greater communities.

As a way to help you prepare to facilitate a successful lifelong learning event that increases curiosity, discovery, and meaningful engagement that maximizes community impact, we hope that you will utilize this easy to implement event scaffolding tool. This form is an optional resource and not mandatory; however, we hope that you find benefit in using this event planning tool as a way to maximize lifelong learning practices and celebrate UND LEADS. Together We Learn values and practices.

Identifying at least two guiding questions that you would like lifelong learners to ponder and be able to explore and discuss will provide easy opportunities for meaningul engagement.

Lifelong Learning is FUN and exciting! A way to increase the fun is to maximize participant engagement. Here is a link to an AWESOME resource for easy engagement strategy ideas. Select one strategy from the link that you would like to include in your class design. (#41 think/pair/share is always an easy, effective way to engage learners.)

Engagement Strategy Ideas

Another simple way to enhance and expand teaching/learning outcomes is to provide reflection prompts and question prompts. These are just open-ended questions with opportunity to think/reflect and share with others. Learning comes to life when the learner is invited to engage in the content. Bloom's Taxonomy is a great resource to guide high impact questioning.

Lifelong Learning extends learning beyond the classroom.  How will you inspire your learners to extend their learning beyond the classroom?  Examples include asking them to share their learning with others, asking them to apply their learning in a new way, providing them with resources to use in the future, leaving them with an activity or question prompt, etc.
