The Fred Factor Mindset - Elevating Service and Culture in Dietary Services

This 10 hour course is a book-study and professional relection based on The Fred Factor by Mark Sanborn.

  • The University of North Dakota provides a variety of ten hour, CBDM approved, CE (continuing education) courses that will assist you in meeting your required training; and maintaining your CDM®, CFPP® credential.
  • Up to 6 months of access. There are no refunds and no extensions offered.
  • With independent study courses you can enroll anytime and work at your own pace.
  • Course cost is $100, which includes tuition and online learning materials.

In this course you will:

  • Read and complete the textbook learning exercises.
  • Complete 11 self-reflection activities and one quiz.
  • Print your documentation of continuing education completion for your records.

Course at a Glance

  • This course is a guided book-study and professional reflection based on The Fred Factor by Mark Sanborn. It focuses on leadership, service excellence, personal accountability, communication, and relationship-building within foodservice and healthcare environments. Purchasing the book from your retailer of choice is a mandatory component of this course and not included in the fee paid to UND.
  • By the end of the course, students will be able to describe the four principles of The Fred Factor and how they can improve service excellence in foodservice; recognize leadership skills and behaviors that empower dietary team members; identify opportunities to add value to residents, patients, and co-workers; apply service excellence principles within their dietary department; and complete a personal assessment and identify one action goal.
  • Students will have access to this online course for up to six (6) months.
  • Upon completion of the course you will be able to print documentation of completion for 10 hours of general continuing education.
  • You have six months from your enrollment date to access this course. There are no refunds and no extensions offered.
