Applied Behavior Analysis Certificate Requirements

Complete these applied behavior analysis certificate requirements.

Upon offer of admission, the following will be required: Successful passage of FBI criminal background check

Admission Criteria

The following criteria will be used to assess a student’s application for admission into the Graduate Certificate in Special Education: Applied Behavior Analysis. No single criterion can adequately predict a student’s probable success in graduate work. Applicants should anticipate that the materials they submit will be held to high standards with submission of the following:

  1. GPA/Transcripts:  A cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.25 for all graduate work (must have a minimum of 9 credits) or for junior and senior years of undergraduate work (based on A = 4.00).  Submit transcripts from undergraduate and/or graduate-level coursework.
  2. Letters of Recommendation:  Provide two letters of recommendation from professionals in the behavior analytic field (Board Certified Behavior Analysts, faculty members, and/or supervisors of behavior analytic employment). These letters need to specifically address behavior analytic employment, coursework, and/or interest.
  3. Resume:  Provide an updated resume highlighting your professional experiences with applied behavior analysis.

What is a graduate certificate?

A graduate certificate is a short series of graduate-level college courses that offer specialized training in a specific industry. UND offers graduate certificate programs focused on education, technology, business, and public administration. You must complete your bachelor’s degree before enrolling in a graduate certificate program.

Graduate certificate courses can sometimes be stacked to meet the requirements for a master’s degree. Reach out to the department for clarification prior to entering a graduate certificate program if your desire is to apply your graduate certificate credits to a master’s degree.
