AI & Machine Learning Certificate Requirements

Review UND's Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning graduate certificate requirements.

Admission Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree, normally in Computer Science, with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  2. Satisfy the School of Graduate Studies' English Language Proficiency requirements as published in the graduate catalog.
  3. International applicants who have received their bachelor's or master's degree in the United States, or English-speaking Canada, are not required to submit the TOEFL or IELTS.

Applicants with a background in mathematics, science, or engineering will also be considered if they are adequately prepared in the field of computer science.

Students who do not meet all of these prerequisites may be admitted in Qualified or Provisional status with the obligation to meet the remaining requirements early in their graduate study.

Degree Requirements

Students seeking the Graduate Certificate in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning must complete 9 hours of coursework consisting of the following courses:

What is a graduate certificate?

A graduate certificate is a short series of graduate-level college courses that offer specialized training in a specific industry. UND offers graduate certificate programs focused on education, technology, business, and public administration. You must complete your bachelor’s degree before enrolling in a graduate certificate program.

Graduate certificate courses can sometimes be stacked to meet the requirements for a master’s degree. Reach out to the department for clarification prior to entering a graduate certificate program if your desire is to apply your graduate certificate credits to a master’s degree.
