Water Resources Engineering Certificate Requirements

These courses are required for an online Water Resources Engineering graduate certificate.

Admission Requirements

The applicant must meet the School of Graduate Studies' current minimum general admission requirements as published in the graduate catalog.

  1. Bachelor of Science in an ABET-accredited Civil or Environmental Engineering program or related science and engineering discipline.
  2. An overall undergraduate GPA of at least 2.50 or 3.00 for the junior and senior years of undergraduate work (based on A = 4.00).

The courses taken may be applied to a master’s degree in engineering.

Certificate Requirements

  1. A total of nine (9) credit hours must be completed in graduate-level courses listed.
  2. A minimum GPA of 3.00 is required to earn the certificate.

Courses shall only count as credit toward fulfilling the requirements when a grade of C or greater has been awarded at the completion of the course.

What is a graduate certificate?

A graduate certificate is a short series of graduate-level college courses that offer specialized training in a specific industry. UND offers graduate certificate programs focused on education, technology, business, and public administration. You must complete your bachelor’s degree before enrolling in a graduate certificate program.

Graduate certificate courses can sometimes be stacked to meet the requirements for a master’s degree. Reach out to the department for clarification prior to entering a graduate certificate program if your desire is to apply your graduate certificate credits to a master’s degree.
