Teach at the American College of Norway (ACN)

The visiting faculty from UND are:

1. Required to teach 3-4 courses during the semester at ACN. Courses should meet Essential Studies requirements, though consideration for courses in a major are given if there are no pre-requirements.
2. Required to help recruit students to ACN for the semester they are teaching.
3. Paid their current salaries and benefits*.
4. Provided housing accommodations by ACN. with the exception of the cost of electricity consumption (arrangements for payment are made through the American College).
5. English Dept. GTAs or Lecturers are reimbursed $1,000 of their travel costs.
6. All other faculty are reimbursed for airfare and other travel costs for travel days to and from Norway, including a per diem for travel days.

Application Procedure

Faculty interested in teaching at ACN must:

1. Submit an application, CV, and approval of Department Chair to Coordinator, Dr. Tami Carmichael, at tami.carmichael@UND.edu.
2. Applicants that are selected will submit to Tami Carmichael:
   1. The acceptance of position form
   2. The acknowledgment of responsibilities form
   3. The Chair’s and Dean’s approval form

*Faculty shall coordinate course and other coverage with their department or unit. This conversation will help plan how UND will cover salary, provide course release, or provide other benefits during a faculty member’s semester at ACN.
