In this course, you’ll learn accessibility best practices for Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and YuJa video content. You will also be introduced to Blackboard Ally, Blackboard Ultra’s accessibility checker, where you will learn to identify and fix common accessibility issues like headings, tables, images, and video captions.
Complete focused modules at your own pace, and demonstrate your knowledge through brief quizzes. Score 80% or higher to earn a digital badge you can proudly showcase in your professional portfolio. There are no session recordings, no scheduled meetings—just practical, on-demand learning that fits your schedule.

Course FAQs
A: Great news; there’s no need to sign up! All UND instructors and teaching assistants are automatically enrolled in this course. Simply head to your Courses tab in Blackboard Ultra to get started.
A: Unless your Dean, Chair, or supervisor dictates otherwise, there is no completion date for this course. If you want to push yourself along, there are twelve modules in this course, and we recommend that you complete at least one or two modules a week.
A: Yes and no. The first three modules (Start Here!, Exploring Digital Accessibility, and Using Blackboard Ally) all present foundational knowledge to succeed in the course. You must complete those three modules in order. After that, however, you may chart your own accessibility path. You must pass all knowledge checks in the course to officially complete the course, though.
A: Once you have passed each knowledge check in the course with an 80% or above, you'll be able to access the final module. In this final module, you'll complete a brief one-question knowledge check that certifies you've completed all course work and fill out a survey. Once you've done that, you'll be able to access a SCORM module that you can use to request a digital badge that will come to you through Credly and/or print/download a certificate of completion.
