Managing a Team
Creating a Channel
Teams are made up of channels, which are the conversations you have with your teammates. Each channel is dedicated to a specific topic, department, or project.
By default, all members of a team can create channels. A standard channel is open for all members and anything posted is searchable by others. If you need a smaller audience for a specific project, you can create a private channel for your team.
See the Create a channel in Teams help article or watch the Create and Manage Channels video for more information.
Adding Members
As a team owner, you can add new members and guests, change members into owners, manage channels and settings, and archive a team that's no longer in use.
See the Add members help article and video for more information.
Show and Hide Channels
Show and hide channels in Microsoft Teams to keep up with important channels and hide the ones you don't need.
See the Show or hide teams and channels help article or watch the Show and hide channels video for more information.
Turn a File into a Tab
If everyone in your channel needs quick access to a file, turn it into a tab so it's easy to get to. You can turn a specific file into a tab - as long as you or a teammate have already uploaded or shared the file in a message in the chat or channel where you want to create the tab.
See the Use an app in a tab in a channel or chat help article or watch the Turn a file into a tab video for more information.
