Art History Courses You Could Take

ART 230. Introduction to Drawing. 3 Credits.

This studio course will familiarize students with some fundamental concepts, tools and techniques of drawing. Through hands-on experience, demonstration, lecture, and critique students will gain a greater understanding of drawing as an artistic medium. F,S.

ART 417. History of Art: Museum Studies Practicum. 3-6 Credits.

Experience working in an art exhibition setting involving practical experience, research, a written paper and presentation. Prerequisite: ART 210 and ART 211. Repeatable to 36.00 credits. F,S.

ART 210. History of Art - Ancient to Medieval. 3 Credits.

Introductory survey of art history from Paleolithic to Medieval cultures in Europe. F.

ART 211. History of Art - Renaissance to Present. 3 Credits.

Introductory survey of art history from the Renaissance to present. S.

ART 480. Advanced Graphic Design. 3 Credits.

Exploration of advanced topics related to the field of graphic design through readings, discussions, and projects. Emphasis is placed on application of type, imagery, spatial, and temporal relationships within digital media. Appropriate art safety instruction will be included. Prerequisite: ART 273 and ART 384. Repeatable. F,S.

ART 112. Two & Three Dimensional Design. 3 Credits.

This is a foundation studio course which introduces design principles, aesthetic considerations, and basic techniques of working as they relate to the creation of two-dimensional and three-dimensional art. Appropriate art safety instruction will be included. F,S.
