From everyday objects to elements to elements of the universe, our world is made up of infinitesimally small molecules and atoms. With a bachelor's degree in Chemistry from UND, you'll study these universal building blocks, engage in your own research and prepare to advance scientific knowledge.

UND offers several options in chemistry:

  • B.S. in Chemistry: Certified by the American Chemical Society (ACS), the B.S. in Chemistry provides excellent preparation for graduate or professional work in chemistry. Choose from 7 different emphasis tracks based on your interests and goals, including biochemistry, biological, computational, environmental, materials, physical science and research focused. ACS approval signifies that the program provides the breadth and depth of courses that prepare students for careers as modern chemists. Students are ensured diverse coursework, opportunities for a meaningful research experience and access to facilities that include state-of-the-art chemistry instrumentation. Online labs at level 200 and above can not be accepted for ACS accreditation.
  • B.S. with a major in Chemistry: Offering two distinct tracks — physical science and biochemistry — majoring in Chemistry provides you the flexibility to pursue an interdisciplinary education.
  • Combined major and master's degree in Chemistry: Accelerate your career by earning two degrees in just five years.
  • Minor in Chemistry: Adding a Chemistry Minor is an excellent complement to any major, providing you an advantage in your career or graduate education.

Whichever track you choose, you'll gain a strong foundation in chemical principles and prepare to make your mark in research, teaching, industry and beyond.
