What is an undergraduate certificate?

The difference between certificate and degree programs typically involves the time and cost to earn them. They also differ in the number of courses you must take. Degrees provide you with a well-rounded depth of knowledge while certificate programs focus on skills related to a specific career field. Like a minor, a certificate program is noted on your UND official transcript. The difference between an undergraduate certificate program and a minor is that students may pursue certificate programs without pursuing a major.

The same undergraduate degree admission requirements apply to undergraduate certificate programs at UND. Many students choose to pursue undergraduate certificate programs while concurrently working on a degree. Others are enrolled exclusively in undergraduate certificate programs.
