GRAD Volunteer Information

To celebrate our graduate students' research, scholarship and creative activities, we need the assistance of undergraduate volunteers.

We are therefore requesting you to attend either the morning, afternoon, or both sessions to ensure that we are able to accommodate the judging of the students who will be presenting their research.

In 2018, we had more than 200 students participating and we are expecting a similar or larger number in 2019.

As a volunteer, you will assist with tasks such as collecting judging ballots, assisting faculty judges, data entry and aid in the organization of the event.

  • Session 1 (morning): 9:30am - 12:00pm (9:30-10:00 will be volunteer prep).
  • Session 2 (afternoon): 12:30pm -3:00pm (12.30-1:00 will be volunteer prep).

Lunch, Shirt and Lanyard

Free lunch will be provided for all volunteers from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m. As a volunteer you will get a free shirt and lanyard which you will wear during GRAD.

Award Ceremony and Reception

We do not require volunteers to be present during the award ceremony and reception starting at 3:00 p.m., but we highly encourage you to be there. This is a one-day event where we will be able to acknowledge and celebrate the research activities of our graduate students from across campus. It is also an opportunity for you to see research from a variety of areas and learn more about graduate education. Food will be provided during the reception.
