Wraparound Child Welfare Partner Orientation
Wraparound Certification
Training is highly encouraged for all partner child welfare agency workers. Completion of training offers certification in North Dakota Wraparound, a certificate in the ND Partner Child Welfare Orientation, and satisfies the eligibility requirements to become an enrolled provider of ND Medicaid for Wraparound Targeted Case Management billing.
Wraparound Child Welfare Partner Orientation is designed to provide an overview of child welfare practice in North Dakota as well as offer guidance regarding the newly implemented Safety Framework Practice Model.
Concepts covered in training include:
- Wraparound values, principles, and beliefs
- Assessment of the family unit
- Impact of personal bias, beliefs, and value system including cultural competency
- Review of ND's Child Protection process to include intake, CPS assessments, legal rights of parents, and responsibilities of a child protection worker
- Overview of the legal system to include an understanding of the Indian Child Welfare Act along with the role of the states attorney and juvenile court
- Understanding and working with children and families in out-of-home care with emphases on attachment and separation issues, concurrent and permanency planning, visitation, reunification, and providing support to the foster family
- North Dakota's Safety Framework Practice Model, which includes defining safety, overview of criteria for removal and reunification, review of parental or caregiver protective capacities, and potential involvement within a present danger/safety plan as well as case plan
Training Details
