North Dakota’s Safety Framework Practice Model strives to:

  • Increase consistency in North Dakota's child welfare practice,
  • Provide a clear definition of safety,
  • Establish set criteria for removal as well as reunification, and
  • Identify and build protective capacities in parents and caregivers.
