Master’s Practicum & Internship

The University Counseling Center (UCC) offers an enriching Master’s Practicum & Internship Program tailored for master’s level students seeking practical experience and personal development in the counseling field. This program is designed to provide a solid foundation for future counselors by immersing them in a range of clinical and outreach activities under the supervision of seasoned licensed professionals.

About Master's Practicum and Internship Program

  • Comprehensive Orientation Training: The program begins with a thorough orientation the week before the academic semester, preparing trainees to effectively engage with clients. This includes training in risk assessment, initial assessments, treatment planning, orientation to our system and more.
  • Clinical Experience: Trainees are responsible for conducting initial or intake assessments, managing ongoing individual sessions, and delivering outreach presentations and workshops to the campus community.
  • Group Co-Facilitation: Students have the chance to co-facilitate groups, allowing them to develop group counseling skills in a supportive environment.
  • Supervised Practice: All clinical work is closely supervised by licensed professional counselors and psychologists, providing a safe space for learning and growth.

This program offers master’s level students the chance to gain essential counseling experience in a supportive, integrative environment while contributing to the well-being of the campus community.
