Tutoring is a great way to help support you in your classes.
Tutoring can help promote independent learning by helping students understand course material, identify strengths and areas of improvement for coursework and concepts, and utilize effective study strategies for academic skill development.
Tutoring is available as much as you need it and there is no charge for you to use. To ensure we are following and training our tutors with best practices and standards in supporting students, our tutoring program is internationally certified through the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA).

Types of Tutoring
Learning Services offers tutoring in a variety of courses that are typically either pre-requisite courses or courses that have shown to be most challenging to students at UND. Check out the various formats of how tutoring is offered to help support you in your classes.
Individual tutoring is appointment based and designed for a more one-on-one approach to tutoring. This will be focused on your questions and your tutor will help you answer your questions, help you understand your course materials, and prepare for exams.
Peer Led Review Sessions
Peer Led Review Sessions are designed to reinforce material and concepts in a group setting to prepare for exams. This session will be led by one of our tutors and will present helpful ways to study material, answer any questions on material, and to prepare for exams. These sessions are not limited in number, and anyone can join. These sessions are intended to be scheduled before exams and are not scheduled on a weekly basis.
Online Tutoring via Smarthinking
Smarthinking tutoring is also an option for tutoring. Students are given 5 hours per year in Smarthinking. If you want to request more hours, please let us know and we can work with you.
If there are no tutors available when you need it, Smarthinking tutoring is available 24/7.
