Appointment-Based Tutoring Appointments
Depending on what you selected for location of your appointment, in-person or Zoom, you will either be given a location to go to for your in-person appointment or if you selected online, you will receive a link for your Zoom session. Either way the time, tutor you are meeting with, and location will be given to you in a confirmation email.
We ask that you arrive to your session a few minutes before your scheduled appointment to avoid delays and to maximize your time with your tutor.
To maximize your study sessions, make sure you come prepared with notes, course materials, questions to cover, and a positive attitude. If you opted for an online appointment, please make sure that you have reliable technology to support your sessions.
How to schedule an appointment
Cancel Your Appointment
If you know you will be missing your tutoring appointment, we ask that you let your tutor know 24 hours in advance. By claiming a spot on the schedule, you are preventing others from potentially getting help. If we find that you are scheduling appointments and not following through without notice, you may be subject to limiting what you can sign up for.
What to Expect
- Tutors are trained to help assist in student learning and cannot be expected to give you the answers; rather, they will help you work towards finding the answers in your homework and test preparations. Tutors are fellow students who cannot be expected to replace learning that takes place in the classroom. We recommend you do both – go to class and see a tutor.
- Students can expect to have a set time to work directly with their tutor to focus on specific questions, further explanation of material, or to use as prep for exams.
- If you opted for an online appointment, when you log into your Zoom session you will be placed in a waiting room until your tutor allows you in. There are a few features that can be utilized in Zoom. Depending on the nature of your questions your tutor might use different tools such as the virtual whiteboard, second screen, or screen sharing.
- After your visit you will receive an email to evaluate your tutoring session. Please let us know how we did so we can fix any issues and continue to build our tutoring program to help you be successful.
