Teaching Ph.D. Cost
How much does it cost to earn a Ph.D. in Teaching and Leadership?
UND's School of Graduate Studies is one of the best values in the nation, offering lower tuition and fees than similar Midwest four-year doctoral universities. For an affordable tuition price, our students are learning from top experts and leading research.
The work you do at UND will be worth it — in more ways than one. Depending on your field, your paycheck could jump by $1,000/month with a master's degree or more than $2,490/month with a doctoral degree. Graduate degrees can also open new career opportunities and provide personal growth.

Teaching Graduate Assistant Funding
Graduate students can apply for graduate teaching assistants (GTAs) or graduate research assistants (GRAs) positions. Through an application process, we expect to support a limited number of GRAs interested in STEM education, outreach, mentorship, and research during the 2021-22 academic year (0.25, 10 hours per week).
These assistants will work with faculty to advance Education and Workforce Development projects, which include:
- Launching a rural student teaching experience for STEM teacher candidates.
- Offering professional development for pre-and in-service teachers.
- Preparing instructional materials for K-12 STEM education outreach in ND.
