Student Absence Notification
Students are responsible for contacting each of their faculty members regarding their absence from class.
Community Standards will notify faculty regarding a student's absence due to hospitalization, death in the family, extenuating circumstances or other uncontrollable emergencies.
This notification serves as a courtesy notice and not a verification of their absence. The student will be advised to contact faculty regarding missed classes and course expectations.
Community Standards will no longer send absence notifications for minor illnesses, in place of a doctor’s note, medical appointment, or non-emergent situations. It is the student’s responsibility to communicate with their faculty regarding their absence. Faculty members should not require students to provide an absence notification from our office to confirm an absence.
