The Association supports LGBTQ+ faculty and staff in networking, socializing, and advocacy. All are welcome.

Mission Statement

The University of North Dakota LGBTQ+ Faculty & Staff Association exists to support and promote Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer + faculty and staff on campus, by offering networking opportunities, advocacy, and visibility to develop and maintain a culture of equity and inclusion.

Our History

In the Summer of 2021 a group of ten faculty and staff were brought together by Assistant Director for Student Diversity & Inclusion / LGBTQ+ Initiatives, Jeff Maliskey to formally create an LGBTQ+ faculty and staff association at UND. The group worked on establishing a formal network, beginning with social opportunities and moving forward with developing a formal structure of the association.

In the Spring 2022 academic year, the association held its first election of officers for the Board. Followed by the development of the association's Constitution and Bylaws.
