
Welcome Weekend Move-In
Most students will move into the residence halls during Welcome Weekend.
Welcome Weekend Move-In will take place on Saturday, August 22, 2026 from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.
- All students will need to sign up for a move-in time slot to help the campus manage traffic and limit congestion.
- Due to construction, we are working closely with campus partners for best routes to avoid traffic delays.
- All students will check in at their assigned hall and staff will be distributing keys and other relevant information.
- All belongings and boxes must be labeled with your Name, Residence Hall and Room Number.

Sign Up for a Welcome Weekend Move-In Time
- The sign-up form will be available online in Housing Self Service starting August

- *This date has been changed due to upgrades in our housing management system to provide a better student experience. Please watch your email for more information.
- Please arrive on campus to check into your hall no earlier than the time slot you sign up for to prevent traffic delays.
Arriving to UND: Where To Go
- Follow your hall's route or click the link under your hall below to save your Google Map or follow posted signage for your hall on campus on August 22nd.
- Parking enforcement will begin on Monday, August 24, at 7 a.m. however, we have listed out the best parking lots available to your hall for move-in day. Please move your vehicle to your permitted parking lot by Monday, August 24 at 7 a.m. to avoid fines.

1. From Gateway Dr, turn onto Stanford Rd (southbound).
2. Continue along Stanford Rd (southbound) past 6th Ave N. University police officers and volunteers will be directing traffic at the intersection.
3. Stay in the right lane and turn right towards Brannon Hall, then proceed into your respective Stop Drop & Go zone in front Brannon, Selke, or Noren Halls.
4. After your car is unloaded, continue through the parking lot and turn right onto Stanford Rd (northbound), then right onto 6th Ave N (eastbound).
5. Park your vehicle in the Princeton Parking Lot.

1. From Gateway Dr, turn onto N Columbia Rd (southbound).
2. Turn right onto 2nd Ave N (westbound) at the traffic lights.
3. Turn left onto Cornell St (southbound), then turn right onto Campus Rd (westbound).
4. Continue along Campus Rd and turn right onto Centennial Dr (northbound). Turn left onto Davis Dr and follow the signs to the Stop Drop & Go zones.
5. After your car is unloaded, continue back onto Davis Dr then turn right onto Centennial Dr (southbound).
6. Turn right onto Campus Rd (eastbound) and park in the CFPAC Parking Lot..

1. From Gateway Dr, turn onto N 42nd St (southbound).
2. Turn left onto 6th Ave N (eastbound) at the traffic lights.
3. Turn right onto Stanford Rd (southbound). University police officers and volunteers will be directing traffic at the intersection.
4. Stay in the right lane to continue past Brannon Hall, then proceed into the left lane to arrive at the Stop Drop & Go zone in front of McVey Hall.
5. After your car is unloaded, continue on to one of the suggested parking lots to be accessed via University Ave (westbound).

1. From Gateway Dr, turn onto N Columbia Rd (southbound).
2. Turn right onto 6th Ave N (westbound) at the traffic lights.
3. Turn left onto Oxford St (southbound).
4. Turn left at the traffic lights onto University Ave (eastbound). Use the Stop Drop & Go zone in front of Swanson Hall if you are unloading a trailer, or turn right into the Parking Ramp.
5. After your car is unloaded, park on a higher level of the Parking Ramp or turn left onto N Columbia Rd (northbound) to park in the Columbia Parking Lot.

1. From Gateway Dr, turn onto N 42nd St (southbound).
2. Turn left onto University Ave (eastbound) at the second set of traffic lights.
3. Turn right onto State St (southbound), turn left onto Campus Rd (eastbound), then turn left onto Strinden Rd (northbound).
4. Turn left onto Manitoba Ave (westbound) and follow the signs through the UPlace Parking Lot to the Stop Drop & Go zone.
5. After your car is unloaded, exit the UPlace Parking Lot and turn left onto State St (southbound).
6. Turn left onto Campus Rd (eastbound) and park in the CFPAC Parking Lot.

3. Continue along University Ave until it’s your turn to pull into the Stop Drop & Go zone in front of West Hall.

Complete Room Inventory and Condition
We do our best to maintain our facilities, but we know they're not perfect. Please take some time to review and report the Room Inventory and Condition so that way we know if there are any issues in your room. Please be sure you complete this by August 28 at 5 p.m. Not filling out an Room Inventory and Condition Form by the deadline constitutes accepting the room in “as is” condition. Ask your RA if you have questions.
Claim your Roompact Account
Claim your Roompact account through the email you received. Please know that you won't be able to claim your account until after August 22, 2026.
Unpack and Get Settled
Now is the time you've been waiting for: decorating and unpacking! Be sure you have reviewed the packing guidelines on what you should and should not bring to campus.

Other Move-In Options
Drop & Dash will be available starting in early August 10 – August 18, 2026.
- Monday - Friday: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
- Saturday - Sunday: 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Skip the Stop, Drop & Go lines and help reduce traffic congestion on opening weekend! A $12 daily fee will be charged from your drop off date until August 22, 2026.
- Drop & Dash will be available August 10 – 18, 2026. You can sign up for a Drop & Dash time beginning July 1, 2026, at 10 a.m. CST in your Housing Self Service.
- Drop & Dash is not available for Brannon Hall and University Place residents, due to these buildings being in use for summer housing.
Where To Go When You Arrive
When you arrive at the UND campus to check in, go directly to the Housing & Residence Life Office. You will receive your key and further instructions on how to proceed to your hall.
Unloading Your Items
- Volunteers, carts, or dollies will not be available to help with the process.
- Please note that all furniture must stay in the room.
- Parking guidelines will still be in place. Please don't park in marked spots or no parking zones. Parking will be available without a permit in residence hall parking lots.
Return Your Key
When you are done dropping off your items, the keys must be returned to the Housing & Residence Life Office by 5 p.m. on the date of Drop & Dash or you will be charged early move-in fees.
Welcome Weekend Check-In
Students who choose early drop-off will return to campus and officially check in on Welcome Weekend at their hall. This is when students will receive their keys for their room and additional move-in details.
- Saturday, August 22, 2026: 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.

If you will be unable to arrive by the first day of classes on August 24, please notify the Housing & Residence Life Office by emailing housing@UND.edu when you intend to check in.
Failure to claim your room assignment does not automatically cancel your agreement.
Reserved for students affiliated with a University-sponsored activity that require them to live on campus before August 22, 2026.
- As a general rule, students are not allowed to live in the residence halls before the official opening dates in the fall unless the student is affiliated with a University-sponsored activity.
- Requests for an early move-in will be coordinated through the appropriate University sponsor.

- Saturday – Sunday: 12 – 6 p.m.
- Sign up for an Early Move-in time beginning July 1, 2026 at 10 a.m. CST
