What We Do
"What does Student Government do?"
Student Government is active on campus in supporting the voice of UND students through student representation and legislation regarding student issues. In addition, Student Government financially supports free bus rides, student discounts, student organizations, and other programs and services across campus.
The Student Involvement Office and Student Government funds a number of events that are free for students to attend. To see what events are coming to UND, check out the UND Calendar or follow us on Facebook!
Student Organization Funding Agency (SOFA)
The Student Organization Funding Agency provides financial assistance to student organizations at UND so that groups can be successful and accomplish their goals. Funding support is available for events, programs, travel, equipment, operating expenses, and publications.
Free Bus Rides
UND students can receive FREE bus rides from Student Government through the Cities Area Transit, the Grand Forks transit system. In order to use the program on city buses, just swipe your UND student ID.
Being involved on campus is one of the most recommended pieces of advice from UND alumni. There are endless opportunities in the 275+ student organizations on campus, and you can take advantage of all they have to offer. Involvement.UND.edu is your place to start. This site service is fully funded by Student Government.
Student Discount Program
Want to get discounts at your favorite stores and restaurants around town? Show your UND Student ID and receive discounts at select places. Look for the window stickers around town to find great new discounts.
The UNDerground is a resource for students to sell and purchase items such as new and used textbooks, furniture and clothing. It's Craigslist, but for UND students. The site was created and is run by Student Government.
RentCollegePads provides information on rentals, roommates, and subleases in the neighborhood. UND does not endorse the site or any landlord or property listed on the site. Students should view properties in person and read the entire lease contract before signing it or paying any money. UND assumes no responsibility for disputes between tenants and the site, or between tenants and any landlord or property.
