Teaching & Leadership Master's Cost
How much does it cost to earn a Teaching & Leadership master's online at UND?
UND's School of Graduate Studies is one of the best values in the nation, offering lower tuition and fees than similar Midwest four-year doctoral universities. For an affordable tuition price, our students are learning from top experts and leading research.
The work you do at UND will be worth it — in more ways than one. Depending on your field, your paycheck could jump by $12,700/year with a master's degree or more than $32,000/year with a doctoral degree. Graduate degrees can also open new career opportunities and provide personal growth.
Burgum Foundation Rural Educator Scholarship - 50% off the cost of tuition
Teachers currently employed in a public North Dakota pK-12 school district may be eligible to receive tuition support for our Master of Science in Teaching & Leadership program or Mastery Learning Graduate Certificate through a Burgum Foundation Rural Educator Scholarship. This scholarship covers 50% of total tuition costs.
To receive scholarship funds, select rural educators commit to teaching and/or assuming a leadership role in their rural ND school district for up to 3 years after graduation and work collaboratively with a UND-Rural Scholars Advisor while enrolled as a graduate student at UND. UND-Rural Scholar Advisors help students align classwork to rural school-specific needs and create a culminating scholarly project that addresses a rural school or district priority.

Federal Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant
A TEACH Grant is different from other federal student grants because it requires you to agree to complete four years of qualifying teaching as a condition for getting the grant. If you don’t complete your teaching service obligation, the grant will turn into a Federal Unsubsidized Loan that you must repay in full with interest. TEACH grants are available to graduate and undergraduate students who meet eligibility criteria.
The Federal TEACH Grant Program provides up to $4,000 per year in grants to graduate or undergraduate students who plan to pursue a career in teaching.
