Cadet Long is a Finance major at UND. He is originally from Brooklyn Center, MN and attended Park Center Senior High School and North Hennepihn Community College before coming to UND. He started his time at North Hennepin as a full time college student when he was a junior in high school through the PSEO program. When he graduated high school, he was three credits short of his associate in Liberal Arts which he completed his next semester. After high school, Cadet Long went to Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, SC and then onto Advanced Individual Training at Fort Lee, VA to become an (89B) Ammunition Specialist. The following year he started his time at UND as a sophomore and also attended Army ROTC classes. Cadet Long decided to step away from college for a year to pursue a deployment overseas with his Reserve unit to gain more experience. After his deployment he decided to return to UND as a junior and contractred with Army ROTC under a 2-year Guaranteed Reserve Forces Duty scholarship. He is scheduled to graduate and commission May 2024. Cadet Long will branch Ordnance and attributes his success to the Army Resesrves and ROTC.
Cadet Delzer is a junior at UND majoring in Nursing. She is originally from Mandan, ND and attended Mandan High School where she was part of the dance team, FFA, 4H, HOSA, and National Honors Society. At the end of her senior year seh enlisted in the North Dakota National Guard as an 09R. Cadet Delzer decided to come to UND due to the high success rate in the nursing program.She joined ROTC because of the opportunities she will experience to better her career path of becoming a nurse. She is a non-scholarship cadet, so upon her commisisoing she will be able to compete as an Active Duty Nurse. After the completion of the Cadet Summer Training program in the summer of 2024, Cadet Delzer is scheduled to attend NSTP (Nurse Summer Training Program) and gain 100 hours of clinical experience working with a nurse over the summer. Cadet Delzer plans to commission May 2025 as a Medical Service Officer in the North Dakota National Guard.
Cadet Haamankuli was born and raised in Lusaka, Zambia. He moved to the US in 2017 and attended Armstrong High School in Minnesota. He played soccer in high school and had some D1, D2 and D3 college offers to play but decided to come to UND because he did not see himself doing anything other than aviation. He is currently a sophomre at UND majoring in Commercial Aviation with the aspiration of flying commercially along with flying in the Army. He joined the Army National Guard in May of 2022 and went to Basic Training at Fort Leonardwood, Missouri to become a 12C (Brigade Crew Member). After basic, he joined UND Army ROTC in pursuit of becoming an Army Officer, becoming an Army and civilian commercial pilot. Joining the Army and ROTC has helped him both financially and mentally. He says it drives him to do better every day and help those around him too.
Cadet Sip is from Ada, MN and choose to come to UND for two reasons; he is pursuining a Commercial Aviation degree and close to his home. In high school he played sports such as football, basketball and baseball. He was also a part of the FAA, National Honor Society, and participated in student government as VP along with President. He grew up on a cattle farm where his family raised crops and he and his brother showed cattle in 4-H. He is scheduled to graduate May 2027 and become a Certified Flight Instructor within the area while commissioning as 2LT in Transportation. His long term goal is to become a commercial pilot and travel the world.
