Breadth of Knowledge Classes 2018-19

To use a course to meet your Essential Studies (ES) requirements, it must be on the approved list in the semester you take it. This is important because the curriculum may change. A course that was on the approved list in the past may have been modified to meet a different ES requirement or it could have been dropped.

You must complete at least 9 credit hours in each of the four Breadth of Knowledge areas:

  • Communication
  • Social Sciences
  • Fine Arts & Humanities
  • Math, Science, & Technology

9 semester credits min.

Students must take ENGL 110 and ENGL 130; and 3 credits of oral communication.
