Usage and Analytics
Analytics
In order to collect user-specific viewing data in YuJa, the video must be correctly linked in Blackboard using the YuJa Blackboard integration.
Types of data you can collect:
-
User Analytics: User Analytics offers a breakdown of participation by class or group, including views and total play length. For more details, refer to the User Analytics help article.
-
Content Analytics: Content Analytics provides insights into individual media files and user interactions, including an overall summary, specific data on views, browsers, operating systems, and a segment-by-segment breakdown of content viewing patterns. See the Content Analytics help article for details.
-
Group Analytics: Group Analytics gives you information on historical cumulative views, unique views, and popular videos, available on either a group-by-group or overall basis. See the Groups Analytics help article for details.
Access Summary Analytics for Individual Media
Content Creators and Administrators can access Summary Analytics and more detailed Content Analytics directly from the Media Details pane for individual media content. The traditional Analytics view is still available through the Main Menu. Summary Analytics provide information about views, viewing behavior, and additional information.
See the Accessing Summary Analytics help article for details.
Storage Quotas
Your YuJa account has a limited amount of storage, similar to other campus systems. Media will remain on your account until they are deleted by the instructor. UND has set the following storage quotas:
- Instructors: 150 GB total storage
- Students: 10 GB total storage
To help maintain digital course materials, we encourage instructors to only keep active course content for the current semester. This aids in avoiding references to redundant or outdated content. Content no longer in use should be downloaded and removed from YuJa.
To check your account’s storage usage:
- Click your avatar in the upper-right corner and select My Account.
- Expand the My Profile navigation on the left side of the screen.
- Select Storage Usage to view your used and available storage.
Use this information to manage your content and stay within your storage limit.
Content Retention Schedules
In an effort to keep our storage at appropriate levels in the YuJa system, the following process will be implemented approximately six weeks after the end of each semester to remove inactive content:
- Student Recordings: remain active for one full semester after the semester in which they were recorded
- Instructor Recordings: remain active until they have had no views for two years
Note: Moving recordings to archive storage will break recording links.
All student and instructor recordings that have been moved to archive storage and have not been restored to active content will be permanently deleted after one year of being in archive storage.
If you have affected recordings, an email notification will be sent listing all the content being moved to archive storage. This message is sent at the time of content archival. This message will come from noreply@YuJa.com.
Below is a sample message:
Hi John,
