Set Up Your YuJa Account
To get started with YuJa, you will need to do the following:
- Access the YuJa link in a Blackboard Ultra course.
- Sign in using your NDUS.identifier (e.g., jane.doe@ndus.edu).
- Download and Install the YuJa Software Station.
IMPORTANT: First time users must log in to YuJa using the link in their Blackboard Ultra course—this will create their YuJa account with the appropriate permissions and storage for their role. After that, users can sign in to the YuJa site directly or navigate to it through Blackboard.
Blackboard-YuJa Integration
YuJa can easily be accessed through any Blackboard Ultra course, creating a streamlined user experience for both faculty and students. Users can access YuJa in Blackboard from the Books and Tools menu, the Add New menu (+), and the Add Content menu (in a document).
Benefits of the Blackboard-YuJa Integration
Within Blackboard, content creators can create assignments that allow other users to submit video responses using the YuJa LTI. Assignments are typically created in the Content area but can also be added to Learning Modules, Lesson Plans, and folders. Instructions and file attachments needed for the assignment are provided at the time of creation.
See the Creating Video Assignments with Blackboard help article for details.
With YuJa, you have the ability to create or take a video quiz (a YuJa video embedded with quiz questions that appear as the video plays). Instructors can incorporate these video quizzes into a Blackboard module as a "check for understanding" component, or they can be added to the Blackboard Grade Center as an Assignment.
For more information, refer to the Integrating Video Quizzes with Blackboard Content Items for Gradebook Sync help article.
My Grades
Once video quizzes have been published to a Media Channel, content creators may view responses, grade quizzes, and access analytics in YuJa's Grade Book. This content may be integrated into Blackboard to allow for grade syncing.
For more information, visit YuJa's library of help articles on My Grades.
Mobile Application Available
The YuJa Mobile App enables access to YuJa Media Channels, Mobile Capture, and Mobile Upload. The YuJa Mobile App is available for both Android and iOS devices, tablets, and smartphones. All features of the YuJa Mobile App are accessible through a single, easy-to-navigate menu. Upon opening, the YuJa Mobile App shows a summary view of all courses, making it simple to manage and access content on the go.
Create Accessible Video Content
YuJa provides built-in accessibility features to support a wide range of user needs. The platform automatically applies captions to uploaded videos, with options to review, edit, and enhance accessibility settings as needed. Visit the Accessibility in YuJa page for guidance on creating inclusive and accessible video content.
