Chicago / Turabian
Turabian style is the informal name given to a variant of Chicago style adapted by Kate L. Turabian for academic writing. For complete information, refer to the 7th edition of A Manual for Writers of Research Papers, Theses, and Dissertations by Kate L.Turabian, available in the Writing Center and at the reserve desk at the Chester Fritz Library.
Turabian allows for two source-documentation styles: bibliography style (also called notes-bibliography style), used mostly in the humanities and some social sciences, and reference list style, (also known as parenthetical citations–reference list style), more common in most social sciences and in natural and physical sciences. If you're not sure which style to use, ask your instructor.
