Presentations can only be requested by a UND-affiliated student group. Requests must be made at least 2 weeks in advance. We'll contact you shortly to discuss the details of your event!

Test your knowledge on alcohol and other drugs trivia and statistics in the Alcohol and Other Drug Jeopardy. Topics covered include alcohol, marijuana, prescription drugs, e-cigarettes, and prevalence of these substances at UND. SI, AS

Freshman year of college can be one of the most exciting times in a person’s life. However, there are a lot of things that most college students don’t know how to handle. Simple things, like learning how to do laundry properly, cooking meals in the microwave, scheduling/time management, etc. This presentation covers it all, and will answer any and all questions you may have to surviving freshman year. Many of these tips can be applied to all levels of college (Freshman-Senior year). SI

Billions of photos are posted to social media every day, but you don't always see the big picture, especially when it comes to unhealthy relationships. There is more to a relationship than what we see on social media. Students will understand the differences between healthy and unhealthy relationships and the role that technology and social media can play. SI, CC, IC.

Relationship abuse often begins with subtle manipulation that can be difficult to detect. Phrases like "Because I love you" hold a lot of power and may be used as a means to control their partner. Students will learn to recognize when words of love are used as a control tactic. Students will be able to interpret how technology and social media can be used to control someone as well as name and identify the signs of emotional abuse. SI, AS.

Many times, in abusive relationships a partner will use excuses to justify unhealthy behavior. "Because I Love You" may seem like such a sweet and simple statement, but in an unhealthy relationship, it's often used as a tool for manipulation and control. It can be a cover for a put-down, a way to assign blame, or a deflection of responsibility. Students will recognize signs of emotional abuse and identify them in everyday scenarios. SI, AS.

Break ups are not easy! Your entire world seems to change, and it is all happening while you feel down. Even break ups that you know are for the best can be really difficult. So, let's talk about how we can break up in a healthy and safe way, but we can't forget how to "get over" a breakup. By that, we mean navigating your feelings in a healthy way, practicing self-care, finding positivity again, and leaning on your support system. You got this! SI, AS.

A harm-reduction program that encourages students to reflect on their own personal experiences with alcohol and educates on strategies for reducing their risk if they choose to drink. Students will examine the diminishing returns of alcohol use, decisional balance considerations, and identify ways to increase protective behavioral strategies. Finally, students will be challenged to consider assumptions about what’s “normal” in comparison with our UND campus health assessment results. CC, SI, AS

No one likes getting sick. Let’s be real, getting sick is not conducive to a college student’s schedule. Learn the difference between a bacterial versus a viral infection, cold vs. flu vs. mono. Learn how to keep yourself healthy, even when everyone around you is getting sick. CC, SI, AS

Participants in this workshop will learn more about common mental health struggles, techniques to reduce stress, and resources they can utilize as students. This workshop will also give time for Q&A throughout the workshop. CC, SI, AS

Coping with today is an interactive presentation that explores the intersection of current events and personal stressors with mental and emotional health. You will receive helpful information and perspective on current experiences, ideas and even practice strategies for coping with the challenges of today. CC, SI, AS

The Escalation Workshop from the One Love Foundation includes a 38-minute film that follows a college relationship from its exciting beginning to its end. The film is followed by a 30-45 minute discussion. The film covers a variety of topics including dating abuse, bystander intervention, and more. The goal of the Escalation Workshop is to provide students with the tools to recognize warning signs, understand the differences between healthy and unhealthy relationship behaviors, and to develop a larger conversation around the issue. This is an added stress in life, which no one needs to face. Learn the ins and outs of budgeting, while living your best life possible. CC, AS

What is consent and what does it have to do with fries and pizza?! In this workshop, students will understand the necessary elements of consent and learn a new way to view sexuality. students will put their knowledge to the test through videos, scenarios, and group discussion. SI, AS

The Gender & Sexuality Presentation is designed for UND Student Groups, Courses, Departments, Fraternities and Sororities, etc. that are interested in learning more about the LGBTQ+ community. The presentation is designed to educate on gender and sexuality, along with how to take an active role in creating an inclusive environment. CC, SI, IC, AS

Sexual assault is not an easy topic to talk about and unfortunately chances are we all known someone who has been impacted by sexual violence. What we can all do is have conversations about consent and speak up to help stop sexual violence before it even occurs. SI, IC.

Getting out of “Fight/Flight/Freeze” mode and entering into “Rest and Digest” mode is key to reducing stress and increasing our productive energy. Participants will practice three simple and effective techniques to activate their parasympathetic nervous system and help manage their stress and anxiety.

Stalking is a serious, prevalent, and dangerous crime. We frequently see depictions of stalking behavior in popular media without realizing it or it is romanticized. In this session we will define stalking and recognize how popular media influences perceptions of stalking behaviors and identify available resources. CC, SI, AS

Have you ever seen a situation where your gut knew something wasn't right? You may have felt that you should do something but weren't quite exactly sure what to do. Step Up @ UND provides students with the confidence and skills to step up and help when they see a harmful situation. Additionally, students will be able to recognize the impact of the bystander effect, navigate barriers, and utilize the 3 Ds. CC, SI, AS

Some might say these are the best 4 years of their life, others may feel an overwhelming sense of stress. Well stress no more! Learn how to handle different stressors that may arise in life, and to turn any stressful situation into a positive one. SI
