Fix It Without the Fear: Helping Managers Lead with Clarity and Cofnidence: The Steps of Progressive Discipline
Wednesday, July 15th, 2026 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Bismarck, ND
We encourage all Human Service Zone Supervisors to attend.
Have you ever stalled on having a tough conversation and hoped it would magically
fix itself? Same. In this workshop, we’ll practice the steps, as well as the messy
parts, of progressive discipline - real scenarios, real documentation, and real talk
- so when the moment comes, you’re ready. Come ready to jump in. Leave ready for anything.

Meet the Trainer:
Alicia Baumann, MBA-HR & SHRM-CP, is an HR Business Partner with the Department of Health & Human Services. She’s spent the past 6 years working closely with Human Service Zone leaders across the state, and she’s been in HR for a decade. Alicia loves this work because it lets her help people, bring clarity to processes, and connect with teams in a meaningful way. Training is one of her favorite parts of the job - especially when she can take something complex and make it feel simple and usable for leaders. Alicia lives in Bismarck with her husband, Andrew, and their corgi, Dottie.
