Verification
UND or the U.S. Department of Education may request that you verify some information provided on your FAFSA.
This process is called verification. Don't worry — it's a routine process that ensures your FAFSA information is accurate and financial aid is awarded correctly.
Being selected for verification is very common and does not mean you've done anything wrong. It just means you've been selected at random to verify or confirm certain details, such as:
- Income and federal taxes paid.
- Household size.
- Dependent or independent status.
- Citizenship.
- Other FAFSA-reported information.
What to do if selected for FAFSA verification?
If you're selected for verification, please submit the information requested as quickly as possible. Without completing verification, you won't eligible to receive federal, state or certain types of institutional financial aid.
Just follow the process below, and we'll guide you through any questions you may have.
