Award Modifications

If an award modification is needed, fill out the Modification Form and provide it the Pre-Award Officer working with that project.

Award Modification Options

Change in Principal Investigator/Key Personnel

Several options fall under this category.

• Principal Investigator (PI) is moving to another institution and the project will remain at UND and another individual will be named as a replacement PI.
• Key Personnel change from those named in the proposal.
• PI or named Key Personnel has a reduction in effort of 25% or more of the committed effort in the proposal.

Carry Forward Request

If carry forward is needed through a prior approval request, a request and plan for spending the carry forward needs to be submitted to the funding agency.

Scope of Work Change

Changes to approved work plan are anticipated.

Budget Modification

Significant changes needed that do not fall within the lines of the approved budget.
