About Us
We work in partnership with students, faculty, and staff to facilitate disability accommodations, promote an inclusive campus learning environment, and encourage student independence.
At Student Disability Resources, we ensure opportunity in all aspects of campus life at UND. Our goal is to remove barriers, provide appropriate accommodations, and support students in navigating their academic environment independently.
We serve all students—including on-campus, online, undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs—through a confidential, interactive process to determine eligibility for accommodations and provide access support.
What We Do
- Review documentation to determine eligibility for academic, housing, dining, facilities, and assistance animal accommodations
- Work with students to identify functional barriers and recommend reasonable accommodations
- Facilitate communication and coordination with faculty and staff regarding access
Temporary or Short-Term Conditions
Most short-term illnesses and temporary medical conditions, such as broken bones, surgeries with extended recovery, or concussions, are not accommodated through our office. Students should coordinate directly with instructors regarding class absences.
Report Access Barriers
Everyone is encouraged to report barriers on campus (e.g., blocked entrances, broken elevators). Contact Facilities at 701.777.2591 to report an issue.

What’s one campus spot you recommend everyone visit at least once?
Take a trip to the Elwyn B. Robinson Department of Special Collections at the Chester Fritz Library (4th floor). So many amazing artifacts and unique collections to explore!
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to students starting at UND?
College is a marathon, not a sprint. You don’t have to do everything in one semester. Choose one or two co-curricular/extra-curricular opportunities and pace yourself. Don’t forget to focus on your academics—it’s why you’re here!
What’s your favorite way to start the day?
Snuggle with my little dog, Violet. She’s the sweetest cuddle bug and is so enthusiastic to get up in the morning, her attitude is contagious!

What's one campus spot you recommend everyone visit at least once?
The most meaningful place on campus will be different for each of you. Wander with an open heart until you find the place that speaks to your heart and let it be a place where you feel seen, grounded, and at home.
What's one piece of advice you'd give to students starting at UND?
Don’t try to force life into a plan you’ve already written. Allow this new environment, the people you’ll meet, the diversity you’ll experience, the struggles you’ll overcome, and the strengths you’ll discover within yourself to shape who you become. University isn’t just about earning a degree—it’s about becoming the person you’re meant to be
Where do you go when you need to recharge or think?
When I need to recharge or clear my mind, I spend time with my two golden retrievers, Olivia and Timothy. Taking them for a walk or heading to a park helps me slow down, enjoy the present moment, and return feeling refreshed and ready to take on whatever comes next.
