Academic advising is offered to all undergraduate students at UND. Academic advisors are available to meet with you:

1. In-person by Hawk Central appointment
2. Guidance on the Go in McCannel Hall, Room 280 (see schedule below)

Guidance on the Go

Stop by Guidance on the Go hours to have your quick questions answered on the spot – no appointment necessary! This service will not replace contact with your primary academic advisor so please reach out early and get your appointment scheduled if needed.

Questions We Can Help with During Guidance on the Go

• Will this class count toward my Essential Studies (ES) requirements?
• Can you help me drop a class?
• Can you help me submit an eForm?
• I have most of my schedule planned but how do I swap/add a class?
• I have a few questions that are not specific to planning or registering for my next semester classes, but I don’t know where to start. Can I ask someone about these?
• When I try to register, there is an error. How do I fix that?
• How do I change my major or add a minor/certificate?
• Can you help me learn how to schedule an academic advising appointment in Hawk Central?
• When are the deadlines for making changes to my class schedule?

Your Assigned Academic Advisor

Your academic advisor is listed under Connect on your Hawk Central Dashboard. Click Contact My Advisors to view your academic advisor's contact information.

To schedule an appointment with your assigned academic advisor, log in to your Hawk Central account. If you need to cancel your scheduled appointment, please call 701.777.2117 or cancel in Hawk Central.

Declared Students

All undergraduate students who've declared a major will have an academic advisor assigned through their academic department in their college or school.

Undecided Students

All undergraduate students deciding on a major will be listed in General Studies and work with an academic advisor for that degree program. 

Unsure about your major, minor, certificate, and program options or the potential career outcomes associated with your academic program? Connect with Academic & Career Exploration. We can help you discover or change your major, find potential careers with your major, and provide class, minor, certificate, and program recommendations. Non-Degree Seeking Students

Non-degree seeking students typically do not have a Hawk Central account and are not assigned a specific academic advisor. If you have questions, reach out to Samantha Eastman at samantha.eastman@UND.edu. She will help guide you through questions you have while attending UND.
