UND provides one of the best values of any college in the country.
Each year 77% of our undergrad students share more than $100 million in financial aid, including scholarships and waivers. On average, each of our students receives $13,500 annually in financial assistance.
New Freshman Scholarships
Automatic Academic Scholarships
If you meet the criteria and submit your completed admission application by the Feb. 1 priority deadline for the upcoming fall semester, you'll automatically be awarded one of the following academic scholarships.

You're eligible to receive one automatic scholarship award based on your unweighted,
cumulative high school GPA. Renewal criteria apply.
*You must submit official test scores to qualify for this scholarship.
National Merit Scholarships
You may receive a UND scholarship equivalent to full tuition and mandatory student fees.
- A National Merit Scholar Finalist or Semi-Finalist from North Dakota or Minnesota who selects UND as their first choice on the National Merit Application.
- If you're a National Merit Scholar from another state, UND will review your file for scholarship eligibility.
- This scholarship is in addition to other UND scholarships and waivers you're eligible to receive (up to the full cost of attendance).
- May be renewable for up to 3 additional years if criteria are met.
Apply for Scholarships
Once you're accepted to UND, you can apply annually for scholarships with one simple Scholarship Central application. UND also offers a generous Cultural Diversity scholarship.
Non-UND Scholarships
You have so many options when it comes to scholarships! Take advantage of opportunities from the federal government, the state of North Dakota, or outside organizations. Plus, UND allows you to accept scholarships from non-UND sources without impacting your UND scholarships.
