Friday, August 16
Friday orientation attendance required for all full-time, in-person new faculty. If you have any questions, please contact randi.tanglen@UND.edu or taylor.hansonwald@UND.edu. All new faculty orientation events will take place in Nistler Hall, home of the Nistler College of Business & Public Administration.
Parking
On August 16 only, free parking is available for new faculty in the Burtness lot,
located at 281 Centennial Drive.

Option 1: Blackboard Best Practices for Student Success Designed for instructors new to Blackboard Ultra, this workshop will guide participants through the basic tasks and decisions required to set up a course in Blackboard Ultra, such as posting an announcement, adding a syllabus, and including your contact information. Please bring your laptop and a copy of your syllabus. |

Option 2: Success as a UND Faculty Member Join UND colleagues and moderator Dr. Anne Kelsch, Director of Faculty Development, as they talk about their experiences and what they found most helpful within their academic career at UND. Hear from faculty members who are special appointment, tenure track, recently tenured, and senior faculty. Each will share tips that have helped them be successful as they navigate their faculty status. |

Option 3: Launching a Successful Research Program at UND What do you need to know about successfully launching your research program at UND? This workshop will be led by faculty members who have had successful research programs, while also mentoring other faculty and helping move their programs to the next level. |

In the morning, you are invited to attend campus-wide events to celebrate the start of the academic year. Your afternoon is free to prepare for the first day of classes or to attend scheduled meetings with your department or college. Please check with your department chair or Dean.
