Change of Address
All F-1, J-1 and M-1 status students are required to report changes of address (including new residence hall rooms) to the International Student Advisors within 10 days of the move. In order to update your address, you will need to update it in Campus Connection and then submit an update via the ISSS Self-Service Tool.
Social Security Number-Employer Information Sheet
To apply for a Social Security Number, you must have a letter from your employer and a letter from the International Center. Please obtain a letter from your employer before requesting an SSN letter from the UND International Center.
Print the Information Sheet and take this to your employer to request your employer letter. Once you have yur employer letter complete the SSN Letter Request. Please allow 2-5 business days for processing.
Request for Reduced Enrollment (final semester only)
F-1 students may be eligible to enroll less than full-time during their final semester of their program. Students must first be approved for a reduced course load before enrolling less than full-time. If you are not in your final semester and are seeking permission to enroll less than full time, please email an International Student Advisor.
To request a reduced enrollment for your final semester, please use the following form:
Once the form is completed, you and the UND International Center will receive a copy of the document. Please allow 1-3 days for processing. You will receive an updated I-20 via email after your request has been processed.
Request for Program Extension
Students who will not complete their coursework by the Program End Date on their I-20 or DS-2019 must file for a Program Extension to maintain their status.
Review the information on the Program Extension webpage before submitting your request. After you have reviewed this information, you may submit your request with the following form:

OPT Update Form
This form is for students who are currently engaged in active Optional Practical Training (OPT) and who are updating employment information. This includes changes in current employment, reporting new employment, or reporting the end of employment.
