Using the Academic Requirement Report

The Academic Requirement Report is an advising tool for undergraduate UND students and advisors. Academic Requirement Report is found in Campus Connection. This feature enables students to work with their academic advisors in planning their schedules and students can easily access summaries of degree requirements already completed and requirements still needed to graduate.

Students and advisors can access Academic Requirement Report simply by logging in to CampusConnection.

General FAQs

Q: What is the Academic Requirement Report?

A: Academic Requirement Report is an advising tool. It shows a student’s progress towards Undergraduate University Requirements, General Education or Essential Studies requirements and major requirements. It outlines each requirement and shows the courses that a student has taken to meet the requirement.

Q: How do I access the Academic Requirement Report?

A: Academic Requirement Report can be accessed both on and off campus through CampusConnection.

Student FAQs

Q: One of my courses is missing from my Academic Requirement Report or is not counted as meeting the requirement?

A: Academic Requirement Report is a tool for students and advisors to see which requirements have been completed and which requirements are still incomplete. Exceptions might occur throughout a student’s career. Please see your major advisor if you believe there is an error on your Academic Requirement Report.

Q: Can Academic Requirement Report tell me if I am eligible to graduate?

A: Academic Requirement Report can help you and your advisor monitor progress towards your degree however it is not a graduation audit. It is intended as a guide on completion of a student’s degree but it does not replace the counseling that students receive from their advisors. The Electronic Academic Requirement Report is “unofficial”, it is for advising only. Official status of degree certification will be made by your college.

Q: My major in Academic Requirement Report is wrong. How do I change it?

A: If your major in Academic Requirement Report is incorrect, please see your college they will communicate the request for change to the Office of the Registrar for updating.

Q: Academic Requirement Report shows I need to choose an option, emphasis or concentration. What do I need to do?

A: Certain majors, like PXW and Biology, require a student to pick an option, emphasis or concentration. Please see your college and they will communicate your choice to the Office of the Registrar for updating.

Q: I had one of my degree requirements waived by my department/college but Academic Requirement Report is not taking this into account. What should I do?

A: Academic exceptions are coded into Academic Requirement Report after notification has been received from the department/college. If you have had a requirement waived and it is not showing in Academic Requirement Report, please contact your department/college. They will work with the Office of the Registrar on initiating the academic exception process.

Q: The requirements for my major have changed and Academic Requirement Report is showing the old requirements?

A: A student’s catalog year is based on the term they were admitted to UND. If the requirements of your major have changed, contact your advisor to see if your catalog year can be changed. Your advisor will contact the Office of the Registrar to make the change.

Q: Why are some courses coded with an EN and a grade and some with EN and no grade?

A: The courses with an EN and a grade are completed courses. The courses with an EN and no grade are courses currently enrolled in or courses “In Progress”. The Academic Requirement Report computes those courses in total credits, GERs or ES and in your major. Be aware that if the course is dropped that the requirements it met will change.

Q: Why are there courses missing from my Academic Requirement Report?

A: There are various reasons a course may not appear on your Academic Requirement Report. If a course was failed it will not appear in your Academic Requirement Report. If a course requires a C or better, the course will not appear in your Academic Requirement Report if you did not earn a C or better. Transfer credit is awarded in the Office of the Registrar upon admission to UND. Any course evaluated for equivalency by a department may not appear on your Academic Requirement Report if it was not sent to the Registrar’s Office. Please see the department of the course if you believe this has occurred.

Q: Why are courses I took prior to 1997 not included on my Academic Requirement Report?

A: Academic Requirement Report is coded starting with the 1997 catalog. If a student has classes prior to that not showing on Academic Requirement Report contact your advisor, who can work with the Office of the Registrar, to get the correct catalog year attached to the student’s record.

Q: Why isn’t my Academic Requirement Report showing the courses needed for my certificate or graduate degree?

A: Currently, certificate and graduate programs are not included in Academic Requirement Report but will be in the future.

Advisor FAQs

Q: I have waived a requirement or course for a student based on their transfer credit, life experience, etc. How do I change this in Academic Requirement Report?

A: Academic exceptions (such as course waivers or petitions) are coded into Academic Requirement Report after notification has been received from the college or departmental advisor. If you have waived a requirement for a student and it is not showing Academic Requirement Report, please contact the Office of the Registrar at UND.RegEDA@UND.edu.

Q: I believe I have found an error or missing course on my student’s Academic Requirement Report. What do I do?

A: Any questions or errors should be referred to the Office of the Registrar at UND.RegEDA@UND.edu.
