Writing a Syllabus

Getting Started with Writing a Syllabus

  • Establish course and lesson goals/objectives. What should students know or be able to do as a result of taking the course.
  • Design your course utilizing Backwards Course Design. The Course Alignment Map can guide you in the process.
  • Create a dynamic and accessible syllabus using Simple Syllabus with updated University policies that you can copy over and easily update.  Simple Syllabus is integrated with Blackboard and meets accessibility and UND Marketing standards.
