Association of Colleges and Universities (AAC&U)

AAC&U imageAAC&U is the leading national association dedicated to advancing the vitality and public standing of liberal education by making quality and equity the foundations for excellence in undergraduate education in service to democracy. UND has an institutional membership to AAC&U. The organization offers a number of free resources to faculty and state at member institutions.

Accessibility Lab

To assist faculty and staff with creating accessible content, TTaDA has created an Accessibility Lab. The Accessibility Lab is located in O'Kelly Hall, Room 301.

Blackboard

Blackboard is a Learning Management System that facilitates an active and engaging online education experience. Blackboard LMS supports tools that deliver new and exciting digital learning experiences to students and educators.

Blackboard Ally

Blackboard Ally

Blackboard Ally works seamlessly with Blackboard Learn to gauge the accessibility of your content. Ally provides guidance and tips for lasting improvements to your content accessibility. In addition to providing you with insight to your content accessibility, Ally automatically creates alternative versions of your files. This allows students to choose the type of file they want that best suits their needs. While you're in the process of improving files, students can still access alternative copies.

Blackboard Request Form Blackboard Request Form - used to add and remove users from a course, merge multiple sections, import content, or request an under development site.
Brainfuse Brainfuse's HelpNow suite features 24/7 help in Math and English. They also provide live online tutoring, writing lab assistance, and a wide range of academic support tools including Flashcards, SkillSurfer practice tests and lessons, MEET virtual meetings, LEAP diagnostic testing, language lab, Brainwave recorded notetaking, and eParachute career aptitude tests.
CircleIn

CircleIn is an online student community. When students CircleIn together, it helps improve learning, studying and belonging. Students can collaborate on study packs together with CircleIn, as well as review, update, & study together to improve student retention and success.

Class Collaborate (formerly Blackboard Collaborate Ultra) is an all-in-one online platform that uses conference tools to connect with students face to face. Collaborate supports audio, video, and recording capabilities.

Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL)

COIL LogoCOIL - UND has joined the State University of New York Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) Center. COIL provides resources and support and strives to cultivate educational opportunities across cultures by connecting students and professors in different countries for collaborative projects and discussions as part of their coursework.

Digital Credentialing (Credly's Acclaim)

Digital Credentialing (Credly's Acclaim) - Digital badges assist with promoting, tracking, and organizing achievements by capturing and communicating credentials. Credly's Acclaim provides the framework through which UND can create badges, define evidence and criteria and then issue badges/digital credentials to the earner.

Digital Media Studio

TTaDA has a state of the art Digital Media Studio, located on the 3rd floor of O'Kelly Hall, that faculty, staff, GTA’s and programs can use for audio/video creation.

EDUCAUSE is a nonprofit association whose mission is to advance higher education through the use of information technology. There are many valuable resources available through their website, including research, conferences/events, networking with colleagues, webinars, and initiatives.

Faculty Success (formerly Digital Measures)

Faculty Success (formerly Digital Measures) - Faculty Success (formerly Digital Measures) is the system that UND faculty use to store professional development and academic information such as teaching, scholarship/research, and service. This data only needs to be entered once and is used for multiple reports, from CVs to the October Supplement.

 

Follett Discover

Follett Discover is a powerful online tool that transforms the course materials discovery and adoption process for faculty and helps students obtain, organize and instantly access their required and recommended course materials from within Blackboard.

Gradescope

Gradescope is a cloud-based Blackboard add-on which works similar to Scantron that can check and grade multiple choice questions. Additionally, Gradescope offers mass grading and report generation for its grading system.

Hawk Central

Hawk Central is a tool that provides an efficient way to quickly offer coordinated support to all students ensuring they receive the right type of assistance or intervention to keep them on track.

Honorlock

Honorlock LogoHonorlock is a leading remote proctoring solution. Honorlock uses Live Pop-in™ technology, combining AI (Artificial Intelligence) with live remote proctors.  Students can start an exam at any time without needing to schedule a time with a proctor.

Infobase

Infobase is an online training resource that is available to all UND students, faculty and staff, providing a robust library of eLearning content.

JAWS

JAWSJAWS - Job Access With Speech, is a popular screen reader, developed for computer users whose vision loss prevents them from seeing screen content or navigating with a mouse. JAWS provides speech and Braille output for the most popular computer applications on your PC.

MERLOT

MERLOT ImageMERLOT is a curated collection of free and open online teaching, learning, and faculty development services contributed to and used by an international education community.

Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams can be used for chat and video collaboration. Use instant message, audio call, or video conference with instructors, classmates, club or other organization members. Use teams to coordinate messages, files, calendars, meetings, and so much more within your department, team, or group. Microsoft Teams is part of Office 365 ProPlus and is free for UND students, faculty and staff.

National Center for Faculty Development & Diversity (NCFDD)

Online Learning Consortium (OLC)

Read&Write Read&Write is an easy-to-use, intuitive toolbar add-on for PCs and Macs that supports students with reading, writing, studying, and research. Read&Write seamlessly integrates with Microsoft applications, PDFs, e-mail, the Internet, and other software.

Respondus Exam Authoring Tool

Respondus Exam Authoring Tool - Respondus is a powerful tool for creating and managing exams that can be printed to paper or published directly to Blackboard. Exams are created offline in Windows and then the software provides many time-saving tools such as equation editors, web links, and multimedia functions.

Respondus LockDown Browser

Respondus LockDown Browser is a custom browser that locks down the testing environment within Blackboard. When students use Respondus LockDown Browser they are unable to print, copy, go to another URL, or access other applications. When an assessment is started, students are locked into it until they submit for grading. Compatible with Mac and Windows.

Riipen

PointSolutions (formerly Turning Point) Polling Software

PointSolutions Polling Software - An interactive polling software, PointSolution is the polling software standard at UND. The use of polling software alongside lectures and presentations allows for instant feedback and evaluation of students and increases the level of communication between participants.

UND Open Educational Resources

UND has access to open educational resources which include full courses, course materials, modules, textbooks, streaming videos, tests, software, and any other tools, materials, or techniques used to support access to knowledge.

UND Labs Anywhere

UND Labs Anywhere is a virtual computer lab that allows you to run specialized systems and classroom software in a web browser.

Vevox

UND is offering Vevox to campus as part of a campus-wide pilot program to determine if such a product solution provides a meaningful impact to our campus' needs. As the pilot progresses, UIT and TTaDA plan to seek product feedback from Vevox users to gauge usage, interest, and enjoyability of the product.

Vevox allows for the creation and deployment of polls, simple surveys (not intended to replace the robust features of Qualtrics), as well as allowing participants to submit questions to a Q&A board during sessions. Creating a Vevox account is as simple as going to our Vevox login page and clicking "Login with SSO." Your NDUS.identifier (firstname.lastname) account will be provided with the full suite of tools that Vevox offers, again at no charge to you, your department, or your poll/survey participants. Vevox allows for up to 5000 concurrent participants on a given session so you will have no trouble ensuring you can reach absolutely everyone in your class, meeting, committee, or conference.

VoiceThread is a web-based platform that enables instructors and students to upload images, video, or documents, and then record audio, video, or text comments onto the same file. VoiceThreads can be private or shared, so users can invite others to participate and add their own commentaries.

YuJa allows instructors to record lectures for students to view any time and anywhere. Traditional students can easily review recordings, allowing for a more thorough understanding of the course material, and online students enjoy a more humanized learning experience.

Zoom

Zoom is a cloud-based videoconferencing and collaboration platform. With Zoom you have the flexibility to create virtual classrooms and invite students to join from their desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and smartphones. Students can also share content from their devices such as PowerPoint presentations, and YouTube videos.
